Asian cleaner steals Dhs7,000 from a company in Dubai, referred to court

A 27-year-old Asian cleaner was arrested and referred to criminal court, for robbing a company manager of over Dhs7,000 in Dubai.

Official records indicate that the defendant, who worked as a cleaner in the company. The cleaner waited until the company manager left and then entered his office in order to clean but had searched the place to grab whatever he could.

The defendant found an amount of Dhs7,300 and stole it without hesitation, thinking that no one would find out about the robbery.

Few days later, the manager found out that the money was missing from his drawer, and decided to summon all employees to ask about the missing amount and threaten to report the incident to police.

All employees denied the accusations, but later the manager received a call from the defendant, confessing to committing the robbery and showing regret for his actions.

On the following day, the defendant approached the manager to apologise, claiming that he had stolen the money as a result of facing a financial problem of treating his sick mother.

The defendant claimed that he had used the stolen money to pay back debts.

Nevertheless, the manager had nothing to do but report the incident to police, as the stolen money belonged to the company.

The defendant was apprehended and referred to criminal court by the Dubai Public Prosecution. He would be charged with robbery.
