The UAE is dedicated to continuing to provide the emergency COVID-19 vaccine, specifically to the health sector, our first line of defense, who are more susceptible to disease as a result of the nature of their work.

Dr. Omar Al Hammadi, the official government spokesman and Dr. Farida Al Hosani, spokesperson for the health sector briefed the media on the latest developments in the health situation.

To clarify, vaccines elements vary from one vaccine to another, some are made up of non-living microbes, some are weak copies of microbes and some are genetically modified proteins similar to those found in the real microbe.

The goal of the vaccine is to stimulate the immune system to create memory cells and encourage it to produce the defense needed to combat the microbe as it enters the human body.

The officials said, “We thank all participants in vaccine trials, we appreciate this service to humanity and pray to God for the success of the efforts of our scientists, doctors, researchers and volunteers.”

Dr. Farida Al Hosani said, “Three goals for developing the vaccine, namely, first: preventing a new infection with the virus, second: preventing serious complications in the event of infection, and third: limiting the ability of the virus to transmit from the infected person to another.”
