VIDEO: Al Ain, Abu Dhabi, Dubai witness heavy rain as UAE records 21.1°C

Moderate to heavy rain was witnessed in several areas of UAE on Thursday afternoon.

Al Ain’s Al Fou’ah, Um Ghafah, Khatm Al Shiklah, Al Salamat and Ghashaba saw heavy downpour.

Moderate to heavy rain was experienced over Sweihan, Al Khatm in Abu Dhabi.

Light rain was witnessed in Dubai’s Al Qudra road, Umm Nahad, Al Marmoom, Dubai - Hatta road, Murquab, Lehbab, Dubai - Al Ain road.

The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) shared videos of rain on its Twitter account.

Residents in Al Ain took time off from their hectic schedule to enjoy the weather. 

Motorists parked their cars on the Al Ain higway to relish the scenic view of the rain.

The NCM earlier said, “A chance of convective clouds formation maybe associated with rainfall and fresh winds, reaching 50 Km/h causing blowing dust and sand with poor horizontal visibility at times over some eastern and southern areas, may extend over the internal areas

The lowest temperature recorded over the country was 21.1°C in Jebel Al Heben at 5:45am.

“Temperatures would increase over the internal areas. Light to moderate southeasterly becoming northwesterly winds, freshening at times during daytime causing blowing dust, with a speed of 18–30, reaching 40km/hr. The sea will be slight to moderate in the Arabian Gulf and in Oman Sea,” NCM added.
