The launch of ‘Sun of Tolerance’, a unique piece of art that combines the words of 110 prominent authors of different fields, has captured the attention of all visitors at the Sharjah International Book Fair of the Expo Centre Sharjah. The book is dedicated to the ‘Year of Tolerance 2019’, highlighting the UAE as a global capital for tolerance and its approach to be a bridge of communication between people of different cultures.

The inspired Emirati author and publisher of ‘Sun of Tolerance’, Nabil Alkathiri, expressed his appreciation to share the publishing of this meaningful book with 110 authors of different professions and perspectives, to come up with one result of defining the meaning and necessity of tolerance and peace.

Nabil Alkathiri stated that international and regional authors have taken part in writing the book, including a great number of youth, engineers, doctors, lawyers, and writers, who joint together to shed the lights on the vision of the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan on tolerance and the great role of UAE in spreading the message of tolerance and forgiveness. “Through this book, we aim to spread tolerance and reconciliation among all societies, and bring attention of people to the concept of collaboration in order to have creative and efficient results,” Alkathiri added.

Among the attendees was Eng. Adel Morkos Hanein Kirilas, Ambassador of International Peace, who took part in the writing of the book, and praised its unique title that compare the characteristic of tolerance as the sun and main objective of life. “The UAE is the main source and live example of tolerance and peace among different societies. All efforts made go to the great author Nabil Alkathiri for coming up with such an accurate and unique title for the book,” Eng. Adel said.

“The book inspired the idea of making a movie under the same title of ‘Sun of Tolerance’ that brought together the brilliant work of multinational team from all countries of the Arab World, such as UAE, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and Egypt, who contributed in spreading the message of peace and tolerance to the entire world,” Eng. Adel explained.

For his part, Counsellor Ahmed Lamraoui, President of Lamraoui Group Companies and Ambassador of Peace and goodwill, expressed his thanks and appreciation for being a part of writing the ‘Sun of Tolerance’, and admired the excitement shown by the participated authors to work together and come up with such a great result. He said, “the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, encouraged and spread the message of tolerance and forgiveness among citizens of the UAE and the whole world, and certainly succeeded in doing so. Tolerance is a self-achieved characteristic, and in order to reach to an inner-peace state with oneself, people must forgive each other first and work together for better outcomes.”

Moreover, Eng Gamal Aidaros Yahya Al Sakkaf, Ambassador of Peace, mentioned how grateful he was to be part of launching the ‘Sun of Tolerance’, and expressed his appreciation to be one of its authors who help spread messages of love and peace among people. He praised the embracement and warm welcoming of the UAE to all nationalities; accepting and coping with people’s differences with great love in order to keep peace and tolerance among the society of the UAE.

The prominent producer, Jasim Abdullah Altamimi, and one of the authors of ‘Sun of Tolerance’, admired the excessive efforts made by multinational authors to successfully publish such a great artwork. “This book emphasizes on the importance and great value of tolerance that completes and follows the path of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan; and it also contribute in enhancing the role of corporate work between different members of the society. The ‘Sun of Tolerance’ will be the sun that brightens the long path of our achievements,” he said.

His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, proclaimed the year 2019 to be the “The Year of Tolerance” in the UAE, highlighting the UAE as a global capital for tolerance, and emphasizing tolerance as a universal concept and a sustainable institutional endeavor through legislation and policies aimed at entrenching the values of tolerance, dialogue, coexistence and openness to different cultures, especially amongst youth, which will reflect positively on society as a whole.
