Suspect denies charges of selling alcohol

The case of an Asian facing charges for smuggling in 190 bottles of alcohol for sale has been adjourned by the Sharjah Misdemeanour Court to December 10.

According to the first witness, an employee of the Organised Crimes Department at Sharjah Police, confirmed catching the suspect selling alcohol for Dhs50 at a residential building in Al Ghuwair area, during a raid after receiving confirmed information.

The police found 28 Dirhams on him, about 90 bottles of whiskey and more than 100 bottles of beer in 20 boxes.

The suspect denied the charges in court, claiming the witness’s statements were false.
