Dhs9m Maliha nursery completed

Sharjah Public Works Department has completed a nursery project in Maliha, at a cost of Dhs9m, under the directives of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah.
The Chairman of Sharjah Public Works Department, Engineer Ali Bin Shaheen Al Suwaidi, paid tribute to His Highness noble deed for the people of Maliha, which has been transformed into a full-service city under the directives of His Highness, and through projects accomplished recently.
Al Suwaidi affirmed the Department’s keenness to implement Sheikh Sultan’s directives concerning building a nursery which provides an integrated environment for children and educational facilities to develop their social skills and care, as well as providing an appropriate environment for working mothers to achieve a balance between their work tasks and raising their job level.
“The department has completed the construction work in the nursery which accommodates 80 children,” he added.
Engineer Mohammed Bin Yarouf, Director of the Department of Branches at the Department said, “The building area is 1,150 square metres and is divided into 4 activity classes, indoor and outdoor games hall, dining hall, library, administration rooms, maternity room and a clinic.”
Umbrellas
The Abu Dhabi Integrated Transport Centre has revealed that 92 air-conditioned passenger waiting umbrellas have been installed since the beginning of 2019, bringing the total number of installed umbrellas to 235, at a cost of about Dhs70 million, only in Abu Dhabi Island and its environs, including Bani Yas, Khalifa Area, Mohamed Bin Zayed and Musaffah.
The centre added umbrellas are currently being installed in Al Dhafra and Al Ain areas, in addition to working to install umbrellas in all areas of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
It confirmed to Al Khaleej that the number of passengers of public transport buses in the emirate since the beginning of 2019 until the end of August 2019 amounted to almost 48,2 million passenger trips.
During the next period, the centre said they aim to install 660 new air-conditioned umbrellas, in addition to 200 non-air-conditioned umbrellas during the next two years, at a cost of about Dhs180 million.
