A nightclub dancer threatened to shame a married man for terminating his relationship with her. She was on Wednesday imprisoned for three months plus deportation.

The Arab woman, 35, misused Whatsapp installed in two of her smartphones to wage an attack on the Arab man, 35. She vowed to shame him by posting intimate clips to his mother, wife and children, records showed.

She demanded him to start paying her MAD140, 000 (Dhs53, 000) and Dhs4, 500 on a monthly basis and threatened that in case he failed to comply she would shame him. He contacted the Dubai Police CID for help.

Prosecutors revealed that she also blasphemed in the messages she sent to him. The Dubai Criminal Court sentenced her to three months in prison plus deportation and ordered that her mobile phones be confiscated.

In prosecution records, both met two years ago. Their friendship developed. They would go out together at restaurants. On several occasions he gave her financial assistance since she was divorced and had two children.

He trusted her. During their discussions he told her about his workplace, mother, wife, daughter, sister and brothers among others. He offered to engage her provided she abandoned nightclub dancing and alcohol abuse.

She welcomed the idea. However, she did not keep her word. He later told her to choose between him and what he told her to abandon. She promised to comply with his request. Nonetheless, she did not do as requested.

He in May 2018 decided to chuck her. When she travelled to her homeland, he changed his phone number. He received relentless calls from his friends telling him she was asking them for him. He restored the old SIM card.

She contacted rebuking him for having switched off his number. She asked him for assistance. He was on a mission abroad. He wired Dhs5, 500 then switched off the phone again. Days later, she contacted him on his new number.

She threatened him. She demanded him to restore their relationship or start paying her MAD140, 000 and Dhs4, 500 otherwise she would let his mother, wife, siblings and friends know about their secret affair. She vowed to publicise intimate photos.

As a sample, she sent him two videos she recorded in Spain when both were bussing. He was convinced she was determined. He feared for the health of his ailing mother if she learnt about it. He contacted the CID cyber investigations management.
