Abdulla Naser Al Junaibi, Vice President of the UAE Football Association and Chairman of the UAE Pro League congratulated winners of the 2018-19 competitions; Al Wahda, Arabian Gulf Super Cup champions; Shabab Al Ahli, Arabian Gulf Cup and President’s Cup champions; Sharjah, Arabian Gulf League champions and Al Ain, Arabian Gulf League U21 champions. Al Junaibi also congratulated Khorfakkan and Hatta clubs on their promotion to the 12th edition of the Arabian Gulf League.
Junaibi hailed the efforts of clubs in developing UAE football under the extensive attention and support from the nation’s wise leadership for sports and football in particular.
“I would like to convey my deepest gratitude and thanks to Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE for the support he bestows upon sports in general and football in particular,” said the Chairman.
“Any success for UAE football is a direct result of the support of the wise leadership and instructions of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE, Ruler of Dubai and his brothers; Rulers of All Emirates, as well as His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Deputy Commander of the UAE Armed Forces; Sheikh Hazza Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice-President of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, Honourary President of the UAE FA and Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister of the UAE and Minister of Presidential Affairs.
Junaibi paid tribute to the efforts of all stakeholders in the professional football ecosystem including players, referees, media and fans, praising the efforts of UAE Pro League employees and volunteers and everyone who contributed to the success of the season.
The Chairman vowed that the PLC, in cooperation with clubs, will continue its efforts to develop UAE football in the path of the UAE wise leadership’s approach towards achieving excellence.
