Heat record in Germany broken again as mercury hits 41.5˚C

Temperatures continued to rise on Thursday in Germany with a new record high above 41˚C, amid a Europe wide Heatwave.

The German Weather Service registered 41.5˚C in Lingen, in the west, which had posted 40.9˚C earlier in the day.

That topped the previous record of 40.5˚C reached in Geilenkirchen on Wednesday.
