Two women married to the same man faced trial on charges of exchanging abusive words on WhatsApp in the Ras Al Khaimah Misdemeanour Court.

According to court documents, the Arab litigants had an argument, because one of them got angry seeing her husband going to the house of the other wife, months back.

Report states that the first wife verbally attacked the second via WhatsApp text messages. She went ahead to copy a private picture of the second from their husband's cell phone and allegedly threatened to defame the second wife.

The first wife admitted to insulting the second wife but denied copying the pictures from the husband's phone. She claimed to have gotten it from an anonymous source outside the country.

The husband's testimony stated that the first wife copied the photos from his cell phone.

The second wife told the court that the first wife started insulting her on WhatsApp and sent her the photos with a defamation threat.  But the investigations carried out showed that the second wife started verbally abusing the first.

The case has been adjourned by the court.
