Ajman Police launch health initiative

The Ajman Police Academy of the Ajman Police General Headquarters has launched the initiative “Health Platform” in an attempt to improve the health of its officers and raise their awareness about methods of healthy habits. Achieving a high level of customer satisfaction is also an aim of the Ajman Police, in order to successfully achieve the strategic goal of the Ministry of Interior based on providing high-standard services.

Colonel Abdullah Saeed Rashid Al Nuaimi, Director of the Ajman Police Academy, stated that the launch of the initiative seeks to reinforce the all-out efforts made to ensure the safe health of all participants, and increase their health knowledge and provide medical consultations.

Col. Abdullah Al Nuaimi added that Ajman Police have sought to strengthen the relationship with partners by signing agreements to set up sports and health programme for employees, in which an agreement was made with Ajman Medical Zone to ensure examination units along with a medical team work with the Police Academy. In addition, the medical staff will discuss the physical fitness and weight-loss programme.

Other health clubs were included in the agreement, such as Body and Soul Health Club and Dr Nutrition Centre which will brief the participants on the health programmes, and provide and follow up on medical consultations of both men and women for a year.Col Abdullah Al Nuaimi urged young officers to benefit from the joint programmes and plans with Ajman Police and partners, in order to ensure a better health for employees and improve their satisfaction and achieve the best results.

Last month, as part of the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Community Sports Initiative which seeks to promote sports and physical activity among all segments of the community, a delegation of Dubai Sports Council (DSC) visited the General Department of Punitive and Correctional Institutions to follow up on sports programmes organised by DSC in their centres.

The DSC delegation was headed by Saeed Hareb, Secretary General of Dubai Sports Council, and included Nasser Aman Al Rahma, Assistant Secretary General of Dubai Sports Council.

This is the third year of the programme, which is a joint initiative of DSC and the General Department of Punitive and Correctional Institutions of Dubai Police, and its chief objective is to ease the integration of inmates back into the community once they have finished their sentences. So the programme is designed not just to create a healthy sports environment inside the centres, but to also assist inmates find a source of income once they leave them.
