The Federal Authority for Human Resources (FAHR) has announced the recent activation of the electronic link between the sick leave of employees of ministries and federal bodies running the Federal Government’s Human Resources Information System with the electronic system of sick leave of the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi.

Laila Obaid Al Suwaidi, Executive Director of Human Resources programme and Planning at the FAHR, pointed out the Authority and the Department of Health in Abu Dhabi have recently launched the e-linking project for sick leave.

She added the sick leave of the employees of the ministries and federal bodies running the system is automatically entered and registered into the “Bayanati” system once it is issued and approved by the electronic system of the Health Department.

Al Suwaidi indicated there will be no human intervention regarding the registration of sick leave into Bayanati. She added the national identity number and the name of the sick employee will be compared to verify the employee’s identity.

Al Suwaidi said the project represents a continuation of the efforts made by the FAHR over more than a year, to link the Bayanati system with the systems of authorities concerned with issuing sick leave certificates at the UAE level.

“The FAHR has developed in 2018 a mechanism to link the Bayanati system with the private hospitals of the Ministry of Health and Community Protection through the system of Wareed, to introduce and automatically register the sick leave of employees of ministries and federal bodies running Bayanati system once it is issued and approved by Wareed,” Al Suwaidi added.

She indicated the FAHR activated in the beginning of the second quarter of 2018 the electronic link between the Bayanati system and the systems ‘Salama’ and ‘Sheryan’ of the Health Authority of Dubai. It is worth mentioning that the Salama system is concerned with the DHA public hospitals and clinics, while the Sheryan system is linked to private hospitals and clinics operating under the umbrella of the Authority.  Shayma Al Awadhi, Director of Human Resources Information System at the FAHR, pointed out 42 ministries and federal bodies benefit from the new mechanism.

“The mechanism will contribute to reducing the steps necessary to enter the sick leave in the Bayanati system from 6 to 3 steps, helping to speed up, simplify and increase accuracy of procedures. It also maintains the environment and ensures the elimination of illegal practices, like submitting an unproved sick leave,” Awadhi added.
