Ruler of Sharjah attends the graduation ceremony of the first batch of students of the University of Al Qasimia.
His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of Al Qasimia University, attended on Friday a ceremony to celebrate graduation of 162, representing the first batch of the university graduates.
Sheikh Sultan congratulated the students and their families and wished them success in serving their communities.
"A few years ago, we stood here to announce opening of this beacon of knowledge, as a new addition to the human civilisation and thought. A place that supports talents, instill in them the tolerant teachings of Islam and enable them to carry the message of knowledge and to contribute to the advancement of their countries," Sheikh Sultan said.
Dr. Rashad Salem, Vice Chancellor of Al Qasimia University, delivered a speech in which he thanked the Ruler of Sharjah on providing scholarships to students from various areas of the world to pursue their education in the the university. He congratulated the graduates and their families.
His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member, Ruler of Sharjah, and President of the University of Sharjah, UoS, on Monday inaugurated the 13th Annual Scientific Research Forum organised by the University under the theme, ‘Multidisciplinary Research to maximise Sustainable Impact” at Al Razi Hall in Medical and Health Sciences Colleges at University of Sharjah, UoS.
His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and President of the University of Sharjah (UoS), affirmed that the students are the pillar and foundation of the University of Sharjah for whom the university exploits all its potential and energies to build them scientifically and behaviourally.
His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member, Ruler of Sharjah and President of the University of Sharjah and the American University of Sharjah, approved 825 scholarships from the Emiri Court for the Bachelor’s programme at the University of Sharjah (UoS) and the American University of Sharjah (AUS).
His Highness’ directives came during remarks he made via the Direct Line Programme broadcast live on Sharjah Radio. Sheikh Sultan also instructed SPEA to set the number of teaching classes for each teacher to 24 per week, approximately 5 teaching classes per day.
Key stakeholders in child welfare have strongly recommended a more socially-driven and collaborative approach to create community awareness to ensure child safety.
Hazza Al Mansoori, the first Emirati astronaut who is preparing to take off for the International Space Station (ISS) on Sept.25, said, “This mission is a great responsibility upon me, through which and the other future missions, I will do my best to help enrich science and knowledge with scientific experiments that will be conducted on the ISS in partnership with the competent teams from different countries.”
Dr Abdulaziz Almusallam, Chairman of the Sharjah Institute of Heritage (SIH), revealed details of the 19th edition of the Sharjah International Narrator Forum at a press conference organised by the institute on Tuesday morning in the SIH offices. The forum is expected to commence on Sept.24 at the Sharjah Expo Center and will last for three days.
