The UN Security Council called on Friday for a ceasefire in Libya as the death toll from a three-month offensive on Tripoli reached 1,000, including scores killed in an air strike that hit a detention centre
The interior ministry of Libya’s internationally recognised government onThursday accused France directly for the first time of supporting rival strongman Khalifa Haftar whose forces have launched an assault on Tripoli.
The UN said on Friday it had evacuated 163 refugees from war-ravaged Libya to neighbouring Niger, but more than 3,000 others were still trapped in detention centres affected by clashes.
One of two rockets fired hit a house and “lightly wounded” five in the town of Ceylanpinar in Sanliurfa province on Monday night, the provincial governor’s office said in a statement.
