BERLIN: European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker said on Wednesday it was unlikely the European Union would reach any decision on Brexit at this week’s summit in Brussels.
Pointing to the political turmoil in London over Britain’s plans to leave the EU, Juncker told German broadcaster Deutschlandfunk that the remaining 27 members states’ hands were tied until that was resolved.
“As long as we don’t know what Britain could say yes to, no decision can be taken on our side either,” he said.
"It is with great regret that I have had to conclude that as things stand, there is still not sufficient support in the House to bring back the deal for a third meaningful vote," May told the House of Commons.
At risk of losing control of the process of leaving the European Union, the leader announced she would resign if parliament finally backed her withdrawal agreement.
The second extension to the Brexit deadline agreed by EU leaders makes it likely that we will never leave the EU. There are two questions about the new deadline of 31 October.
