FKPA donates Dhs150,000 to support the efforts of MOHAP in meeting the needs of the patients with kidney disease at Al Qassimi Hospital.

SHARJAH: On the occasion of the World Kidney Day that falls on March 9 and under the guidance of Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher Bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Chairperson of the Supreme Council for Family affairs, the Friends of Kidney Patients Association (FKPA) and wife of Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Muhammad Al Qasimi,  paid a visit on Wednesday, to the patients with kidney diseases at Al Qassimi Hospital in Sharjah and donated Dhs150,000 to support the efforts of the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MOHAP) in meeting the needs of the patients, and follow up the dialysis machines donated earlier by the Association.

FKPA is one of the health support associations at the Supreme Council for Family Affairs in Sharjah.

The delegation was headed by Iman Rashid Saif, Director of the Health Promotion Department at the Supreme Council for Family Affairs in Sharjah, and Mariam Bin Dakhin, Director of the Friends of Kidney Patients, in addition to staff and volunteers in the association.

The delegations were received by Dr Hayat Al Mazimi, Ophthalmologist and Deputy Director of Al Qasimi Hospital and Dr Suad Sajwani, Consultant of Nephrology at Al Qasimi Hospital, along with doctors and administrative and nursing staff in the hospital.

Mariam Bin Dakhin, FKPA Director, stressed that this initiative comes under the association’s framework to further enhance the cooperation between health institutions in the country, to expand the areas of community support and strengthen the society’s mission in supporting kidney patients and improve their lifestyle.

Dakhin added that the association is keen to diversify their support in cooperation with MOHAP hospitals, and assist hospitals in providing services to wider groups of patients with kidney diseases.

Dr Hayat Al Mazimi, Ophthalmologist and Deputy Director of Al Qasimi Hospital, praised the annual support provided by the Association and the role of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs as an important active partner in supporting health facilities, alleviating the suffering of patients and supporting the efforts of the Ministry to provide comprehensive and integrated healthcare in accordance with the highest international standards.

Recently, Sheikha Jawaher approved the dates of the second edition of the Women’s Economic Empowerment Global Summit as 10th- 11th December, 2019.
