Earthquake of magnitude 5 felt in parts of UAE
RAS AL KHAIMAH: An earthquake of magnitude 5 was felt in Ras Al Khaimah and other parts of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Sunday afternoon.
According to the National Center of Meteorology (NCM), slight tremors were felt in Ras Al Khaimah, with the centre of the earthquake being Qeshm Island - South Iran.
Residents in public places and at offices also reported to have felt slight tremors. The extent of the damage at the centre of the earthquake was not immediately clear, but authorities and emergency personnel were reportedly dispatched to the site to assist in the rescue and relief efforts.
