ACCI, FAD to promote franchise sector

AJMAN: Abdullah Al Muwaiji, Chairman of Ajman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI), received the Board of Directors of the Emirates Association for Franchise Development (FAD) led by Mohamed Hilal Al Muhairi, Chairman of FAD, at the Chamber’s headquarters. The meeting was attended by Abdullah Saeed Al Nuaimi, ACCI’s Board Member and FAD’s Board Member, and Salem Al Suwaidi, Director General of ACCI.  During the meeting, Al Muwaiji commended the FAD’s role in supporting the franchise sector, stressing the need to increase franchise exhibitions and events to encourage entrepreneurs to access the markets abroad and to attract successful brands. He also stressed the importance of creativity and innovation in the franchise projects, which greatly support success and sustainability of business.

The attendees were briefed about the FAD’s activities and role in enhancing expertise of the business community in franchise, which ensures success rates exceeding 80 per cent.

During the meeting, a memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed by Mohammed Hilal Al Muhairi and Abdullah Saeed Al Nuaimi.

The MoU stipulates the need to increase the cooperation in the franchise activities and any other sectors that serve both parties. In addition, it states to exchange knowledge, expertise and information on a regular basis to promote and develop the activities of the franchise and to participate in the various events.

The MoU also seeks to create effective channels of communication between them in order to strengthen the relations and develop the services that help institutions and companies to expand the agreements and actions of franchises and diversification of their activities.
