DUBAI: Al Madina Group, a leading multi-brand retailer in the UAE, is set for a major portfolio diversification and business expansion in near future by opening new shopping malls and community shopping centres across the country.

Abdulla Poyil, Managing Director of Al Madina Group, said, “The group’s five new malls including the one in Muwaileh, Sharjah, and seven new hypermarkets are under way. All these projects are scheduled to be completed by the end of this year. More ventures and offers can be expected soon.”

He made the announcement at a press conference after inauguration of Al Madina Group’s newly-built centralised distribution centre in Industrial Park, Dubai, on Monday. The 400,000 square feet new facility also houses Corporate Office of the group.

Chief Commercial Officer of TECOM Abdulla Belhoul, Managing Director of Dubai Industrial Park Saud Abu Al Shawareb, COO of Dubai Development Authority Gopalan Nags were also present on the occasion.

Abdulla Poyil said that the new distribution centre will help the group build a strong supply chain system. The centre will focus on procuring the newest products and make them available to customers at the earliest.

“Best quality products and best services at affordable rates, has been our motto. The new Distribution Centre will enhance the relationship with wholesalers and distribution companies. It will ease the communication with them and can speed up distribution to various centres. This will be an opportunity for new companies to start new ventures with us,” he added.

The group has diversified into several areas with popular brands under its wing such as Clikon Electronics, Oasis Cuisines, Techorbit, Al Hind Jewellery, Al Madina Printing, and Platinum Middle East Properties.
