Universal’s new ‘F9: The Fast Saga’ achieved the highest revenue in its premiere since the start of the pandemic.

‘Fast and Furious 9’ pulverized all other films with an estimate take of $70 million, marking the biggest debut for a movie in North American theaters not only since the COVID-19 pandemic; but even since the release of the ninth movie ‘Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker’ in 2019.

In the movie Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez and John Cena not only deal with exploding cars, speeding cars and penetrations of gravity but also rocket cars, electromagnetic weapons and ominous satellites.

It gave much-needed impetus to a film sector that has struggled to recover as audiences return to mass viewing.

Before the end of last week, the highest-grossing opening act was "A Quiet Place" sequel, with ticket sales of $43 million for its premiere.
