Arada awards Dhs180m contract at Sharjah’s megaproject Aljada

Arada-Project

The construction of The Boulevard at Aljada will begin immediately with completion scheduled for end-2022.

Arada has awarded the construction contract to build The Boulevard, an upscale residential complex at its Sharjah mega-community Aljada.

Located in the edge of the ultra-contemporary East Village district of Aljada, The Boulevard comprises three apartment blocks, featuring a wealth of amenities and surrounded by lush green landscaping. The nine-storey blocks are located next to Aljada’s main avenue, an elegant tree-lined street complete with shops, restaurants and cafes.

The Dhs180 million contract was won by Dubai-based Al Ashram Contracting, a leading construction company with more than 45 years of experience in building a wide range of residential, commercial, hospitality and infrastructure projects in the UAE. Work on The Boulevard will begin immediately, and homes in the project will be handed over by the end of 2022.

Sheikh Sultan Bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Chairman of Arada, said: “This milestone is evidence of our determination to move forward rapidly with our construction plans at one of the UAE’s fastest-growing communities. These distinctive and high-end homes in one of the most desirable parts of Aljada have been welcomed by investors and end-users and will be a valuable addition to Sharjah’s property landscape on completion”.

Featuring around 600 units in total, The Boulevard buildings feature a range of one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments with a wide range of sizes and floorplans, which are targeted at singles, young couples and families. All apartments come with smart home technology added as standard, while the complex also includes a fully stocked health club and a shared swimming pool, as well as a number of cafes and retail outlets at ground-floor level.

So far this year, Arada has already completed 465 units at seven apartment buildings in Aljada, with another seven apartment buildings and a townhouse and villa community at the project scheduled to be completed in the next few months. In February, the developer also awarded a Dhs367 million contract to build Nest, a world-class student housing complex.

Spread over a 24 million square foot area, Aljada is ideally located on the last large plot of land in the heart of New Sharjah. Aljada contains numerous residential districts, as well as extensive retail, hospitality, entertainment, sporting, educational and healthcare components, all set within a green urban master plan.

Madar at Aljada, a new family entertainment destination designed by Zaha Hadid Architects, was the first part of the megaproject to be completed in February 2020 and has now welcomed more than 1.5 million visitors.

Based in the UAE, Arada is a developer that has been created to build communities that enrich, engage and inspire their residents. Our homes are exceptionally designed and are complemented with best-in-class amenities, all provided at an accessible price point.

Arada, the UAE-based real estate developer, has launched last week the shopping and leisure destination for the Nasma Residences community in Sharjah.

The lifestyle hub was inaugurated by Sheikh Sultan Bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Chairman of Arada, in time for Eid Al Fitr. He also unveiled the focal point of Nasma Central: a manmade hilltop location and memorial pavilion with impressive views of the surrounding neighbourhoods.

In a statement, Arada said that the hub will serve both residents of Nasma Residences, as well as visitors from nearby communities. The mix of outlets at Nasma Central includes a Spinneys supermarket, a Starbucks drive-thru, a Wellfit club and new café concept Origins Koffee Lab and Kitchen.

Visitors to Nasma Central Park will be able to enjoy 450,000 sqft of landscaped green space, with a number of sporting facilities, it continued.

Featuring over 1,100 homes, Nasma Residences is a fully integrated community, including an international school, a mosque and two smaller neighbourhood parks, as well as Nasma Central and Nasma Central Park.

The development has excellent connectivity with Dubai and the rest of the Northern Emirates and is located just minutes away from Arada’s new forested community project Masaar, the upcoming Sharjah Botanical Garden, Tilal City and the new Sharjah Convention Centre.

Speaking at the opening, Sheikh Sultan said: “The launch of this new destination at the heart of Nasma Residences is a landmark moment for the community. The hilltop’s path and the beautifully designed pavilion at its summit serve as a celebration of the life of Sheikh Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, the former Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, who passed away in 2020.”

The 15-m-high manmade hill is the centrepiece of Nasma Central and Nasma Central Park, which together offer a range of shopping, dining, relaxing and sports facilities.

The rotating journey up to the hilltop features a number of resting stops that outline key achievements from Sheikh Ahmed’s career, together describing more than 50 years of public service towards the success and prosperity of Sharjah and the wider UAE.

An architectural statement in itself, the Sheikh Ahmed Pavilion provides an elevated vantage point with dual views over Nasma Residences and Masaar, Arada’s third community, as well as the landmark Sharjah Mosque, he noted.
