Fujairah will host the UAE’s first-ever IFBB Mr and Mrs World Championships from Nov.17–20. The Mr and Mrs World Amateur and Professional Bodybuilding Championship will take place at the Zayed Sports Complex.

Both the top events of the International Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness are open to all IFBB-affiliated national federations.

The Mr and Mrs. World Amateur and Professional Bodybuilding Championship will take place under the auspices of the Emirates Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation.

Official athlete registration (weigh-in) will take place on November 17 at the Novotel Hotel, Fujairah. The women's championship will be held the next day at the same venue.

Engineer Mohammed Bin Majed, Director-General of the Department of Industry and Economy in Fujairah and chairman of the organizing committee, promised that the preparations are done to ensure the success of the championships.

"UAE in general and Fujairah in particular are hosting these championships for the first time.

"We are delighted to welcome athletes from across the globe to take part in the biggest event in bodybuilding and fitness.

"Hosting this event in Fujairah crowns a long journey of hard work and dedication, as we have been organizing bodybuilding competitions since 2000."

More than 700 athletes representing 100 countries are expected to take part in the championships.

"“Given the stature of the championships, we are expecting around 700 participants to compete in these top events of the IFBB calendar. IFBB Mr and Mrs World Championships will also provide us with worldwide recognition and allow us to demonstrate our ability to host international events, which positions Fujairah as a growing sports destination," added Engineer Mohammed Bin Majed.
