Students and coaches from the UAE Golf Clubs at The Address Montgomerie, , Ministry of Education, and UAE Golf Clubs have been working closely in order to introduce the game of golf into the UAE physical education system for the past two years.

Since the start of 2018 over 5,000 students across 8 different golf clubs have had the opportunity to try the game of golf. This Par 3 day was the occasion for the schools and golf clubs to celebrate the progress that has been made.

With the kids at different levels of development, the UAE National Team Coaches divided the golfer into three different divisions and awards were handed out accordingly.

Coming out on top of division one and having the best score for the day was Saeed with a score of 32.

The runner-Up and the top score in division two was Lattfi Al Jassmy with a score of 40. Rounding out the top three and the best score in division three was Mohammed Bin Hatam with a score of 52.

“These are just some of the students that have made it past the introduction stage of our National Development Programme. Our program has seen a great deal of progress over the past two years and the partnership with the Ministry of Education and UAE Golf Clubs is a big reason for our success. By producing 80 to 100 kids every two years we are guaranteeing that golf has a steady growth within the UAE community. Our goal is not only to make a stronger National Team but it is to also bring golf to schools and the UAE physical education system” said Khalid Mubarak Al Shamsi, the EGF Secretary General and UAE National Team Manager.

During the awards ceremony, the EGF also took the time to recognize the top UAE Golf Clubs that have taken this initiative to the next level. Al Ain Equestrian Shooting and Golf Club, Yas Links Abu Dhabi, and Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club were all giving gifts from the EGF for their hard work and progress over the past 12 months.
