Global institutions join UAE initiative

HANOVER: The Mohammed Bin Rashid initiative for Global Prosperity has announced that eight UN-affiliated organisations and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) have joined the global initiative. The initiative aims to build industrial innovators to support innovation. Further, the aim is also to set-up new partnerships and enhance collective work for the ultimate goal of achieving global prosperity.

The announcement was made during the Hanover Messe, the biggest industrial fair worldwide, which is held in Hanover, Germany.

The initiative also announced four important issues adopted by these organiations to be part of the initiative’s action plan for seeking practical and innovative solutions to the meet challenges such as sustainable energy, agricultural development, elimination of hunger, sustainable cities, minimisation of digital divide and eradication of digital illiteracy.

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, launched the initiative during the inaugural session of the Global Manufacturing and Industrialisation Summit hosted by Abu Dhabi in March 2017.

The initiative was launched in recognition of Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid’s efforts to serve humanity and his role in converting the UAE into a community of innovators that takes happiness and positivity as the benchmark for growth and prosperity.
