ABU DHABI: The Global Manufacturing and Industrialisation Summit (GMIS) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (La Confederation Generale des Entreprises du Maroc - CGEM), to further strengthen collaboration between the Moroccon public and private sector and the global manufacturing community, promoting favourable regulatory and business environments to boost manufacturing activities worldwide. Established in 1947, CGEM is the prominent representative of private sector companies in Morocco.
The inaugural Global Manufacturing and Industrialisation Summit will be held at the Paris-Sorbonne Abu Dhabifrom March 27-30, 2017. A joint initiative by the UAE Ministry of Economy and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), and co-hosted with the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development. The Summit is the world’s first global gathering for the manufacturing community, bringing together leaders in business, government and civil society to shape a vision for the sector’s future.
From traditional to high-tech industries, developed to emerging economies, the Summit will encourage the values pursued by CGEM; in addition to focusing on the development of manufacturing capabilities, promoting global value chains, finding ways in which to foster sustainable practices and job creation.
