Unmatched discounts for tech-savvy consumers

DUBAI: Hundreds of tech-savvy shoppers queued outside Zabeel Halls at the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC), the new venue to this season’s Gitex Shopper, Middle East’s largest and most anticipated consumer electronics show.

The consumers flocked at the venue, to be the first to grab on attractive deals offered by leading electronic retailers on the latest gadgets, and other electronic items.

Every visitor buying an entry ticket to the show were also give a scratch and win coupon, as the Show commenced from Saturday September 23.  The show will end on 30th September.

In addition, shoppers will win Dhs10,000 cash every day at the show on spend of Dhs2,500 and above.

Around 40 visitors can stand a chance to win Oppo A37 smartphones, multipark tickets to Dubai Parks and Resorts.

The exhibitors are projecting an estimated 200,000 plus visitors to turn up at the eight-day show.

Technology is set to transform a variety of domains, ranging from education to healthcare and most notably gaming, marketing and film industry, with augmented and virtual reality booming in the Mena region which is expected to top $6 billion annually by 2020.

Gitex Shopper is a key platform and an important one where electronic dealers can successfully reach out to their respective consumers and, not only showcase each product in depth, but also to demonstrate the exponential benefits of the entire product range at the various stands.

The key electronic retailers are offering promotions and price

discounts to lure customers to the shopping paradise.

At stake are discounts ranging from 50 to 70 per cent on various categories and have offers with the lowest prices in the market to entice shoppers,” he said.

Retailers said that wearables and drones are seeing a demand for the last couple of months.

Although most of the leading retailers will offer similar Gitex

Shopper discounts at its outlets countrywide, dealers however suggest that consumers should make a point to visit the Show as it is only at Gitex Shoppers that the freebies and promotional bundles are applicable, which cannot be offered in the stores.

Dell

This year, Dell has introduced the 8th Generation Intel Core Processors at this season’s GITEX Shopper thereby introducing a suite of industry firsts, starting with the launch of a refreshed line of Inspiron 5000 2-in-1series and the Inspiron 13 7000 series, both deliver even more performance than its predecessors with the new 8th Generation Intel Core processors.

This followed a sneak peek into the soon to be launched Inspiron 15 7000 Gaming series which packs a punch with powerful graphics and XPS 13, complete with a sleek design, outstanding viewing experience and kicking performance up a notch with the new 8th Generation Intel Core processor.

Jumbo Electronics

Moreover, Nadeem said tht camera sales have not been as high it used to be in peak years but when compared to last year, definitely there will be growth as camera sales have hit the bottom for the past couple of years.

“In the age of information, today’s consumers have different demands than those of previous generations, and developments in the electronics sector are happening at a dizzying pace. We will be exhibiting the latest VR products from leading brands at this year’s Shopper, including Samsung Gear VR2, HTC Vive and DJI VR Goggles,” added Nadeem.

HP

HP has also introduced its latest range of products for its printing and computing customers in the Middle East.

HP’s latest range of products includes an upgraded portfolio of

printers, commercial and consumer PCs as well gaming desktops and laptops.

It has been a crowd-puller at HP stand, as the company introduced the extremely popular Omen Torture Chamber at the Show, where gaming enthusiasts can experience a whole new gaming world using the latest HP Omen Gaming laptop in a specially designed chamber – equipped with moving seats, force feedback controls, high end sound & visual effects.

Show-goers have been experiencing a number of distractions and sensory challenges while gaming. These include a constantly moving seat that spins, rises, dips and swoops backwards, unexpected smoke and bright

flashes, all while playing the game.

Samsung Gulf

Visitors will be able to experience Samsung’s most innovative product line-up to date at its stand at GITEX Shopper where consumers will also have the opportunity to experience Samsung’s latest innovations through a number of activities at the Samsung stand.

Show-goers had an interactive experience with the new-level Galaxy Note 8 Lifestyle TVs The Frame and QLED which are on display at Samsung Gulf Electronics stand.

Samsung’s best-selling product lines and highly anticipated releases is on display, including the highly anticipated Galaxy Note8. “Customers have been lining up outside storefronts to be among the first to get their hands on the much awaited Galaxy Note8 - we’ll be bringing this popular flagship, amongst our other incredible offerings to our stand at Gitex Shopper 2017. What we are seeing today is that consumers want more from their products than ever before – and we aim to give them innovations that can take on multiple roles to be even more than they bargained for,” said C. Purushothaman, Head of Marketing, IT and Mobile Division at Samsung Gulf Electronics.

This Gitex Shopper, Samsung is showcasing a range of products, its ecosystem of devices and the way these work together. Samsung’s new products are truly evolutionary and consumers will be able to have an immersive experience at the Samsung stand in offerings such as the all-new Galaxy Note8, The Frame TV, and the range of QLED TVs – amongst other innovations.

The S Pen Gallery will enable Galaxy Note8 enthusiasts to experience the live message feature – and messages will be displayed across multiple windows on LFD screen. Moreover, a miniature table will feature iconic Dubai landmarks where guests can interact with the Galaxy Note8 dual lenses camera feature, the S Pen translate feature and the S Pen drawing feature. Other activities at the Samsung stand will enable consumers to experience the Gear S3 and Gear Fit2 through

competitive virtual sporting games, as well as the Gear VR 4D chairs in an immersive virtual reality experience.

Consumers also had the opportunity to experience Samsung’s latest lifestyle TVs – The Frame and QLED. Based on the new innovative technology, The Frame looks like a picture frame hanging on a wall when ‘Art Mode’ is on. Instead of fading to black like a conventional TV, the Lifestyle TV’s display transforms into a work of art, letting the users select custom-designed digital art pieces. QLED is the next innovation in picture quality; it offers unbelievably bold, bright, and vivid images; seamless transitions between colors; and the most realistic picture available on a TV.

Gaming industry

The Middle East & Africa (MEA) gaming market of more than 3.36 million gamers is expected to generate $4 billion dollars of revenue in gaming this year, 2.6 percent share of 2017 global gaming revenues, according to the latest Global Gaming Market Report from Newszoo.

With 25 per cent year-on-year growth across the MEA market, Saudi is ranked as the second-top gaming revenue-generating country, with $647 million in revenue, while UAE comes in fourth with $281 million revenue.

The global gaming market of more than 2.2 billion gamers are expected to generate $109 billion dollars of revenue this year of which 27 per cent is from PC Gamers and 31 per cent from Console Gamers or combined 58 per cent.
