The IPL-26 is turning out to be a lacklustre show. Two of the top stars MS Dhoni and Rohit Sharma are not playing. They are being missed. Only Virat Kohli is mesmerising the crowds with his brilliant strokes. The past champion teams like Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai are trickling at the bottom of the results table. They are neither scintillating nor entertaining.
The current IPL matches underline the critical role of leadership in these games. If Dhoni, Rohit and Virat were to commence captaining their sides again, the matches will suddenly gain effervescence and lure. The franchises of these teams, replaced these three star players too soon. It is time to hand-over the reins to them again.
