The summer heat is slowly but surely creeping up on us. With that heat outdoors also comes some heat on our screens in the form of all the biggest summer movie releases. This week we take a look at some of the best films to expect over the next few months.

“The Northman” is a new historical fiction action movie based on Scandinavian lore directed by Robert Eggers. Starring Alexander Skarsgård (who also co-produced), Nicole Kidman and Anya Taylor-Joy, the movie tells the tale of Prince Amleth, a Viking who seeks revenge for his murdered father.

The “Jurassic World” movies just keep coming. The new one is “Jurassic World Dominion” with dinosaurs and humans living alongside each other. With an ensemble cast including Chris Pratt who is starring in his third “Jurassic World” film. Interestingly, Pratt stars in “Thor: Love and Thunder,” another big hit coming out this summer. These films are bound to be as popular as their prequels have been with audiences.

“Downton Abbey” fans (me) will be delighted to know (again me) athat there is another film coming out. “Downton Abbey: A New Era” was written by Julian Fellowes, the creator and writer of the television series and the first movie. Simon Curtis directed the second film replacing Michael Engler who directed the first film.

Read on to discover the rest of the movies we are looking forward to watching this summer. We have tried to keep the spoilers to a minimum, let us know what you plan on watching.
