A Saudi father sent a heartfelt letter to the management of the school where his late son studied after receiving a warning about his absence from school and the need to bring an official excuse so that his absence grades would not be deducted.

Users of social media platforms circulated a copy of the letter written by Abdul Rahman Bin Ahmed Abu Saadiya to the officials of the Hakim Bin Hizam School in Qena, during which he told them about the death of his son and his request for them to pray for him.

The bereaved father wrote, “To: the principal and teaching staff members of Hakim Bin Hizam Secondary School in Qena. Please be informed that my son and beloved student, Mohammed Abdul Rahman Ahmed, has already passed away.”

“I did wish he were sleeping on his bed so that I could wake him up and force him to go to school as I used to do. I still believe he is alive, the same as you do. May Allah have mercy upon him and us and welcome him in heaven,” he added.

Stating that he understood the situation, Abu Saadiya said: “I know that there was something wrong when I received the letter, but it stirred feelings of grief and sadness in me. I hope you pass my regards to his colleagues and teachers, his chair and table and the walls and corners of his school.”

In press statements, Abu Saadiya revealed that the school management apologized to him for the letter that he mistakenly received and that he understood how they felt because he considered them to be his late son’s friends and family members.

He pointed out that his son Ahmed, 17, died in a traffic accident on March 28.
