The UAE strongly condemned the targeting by the Israeli forces of a gathering of thousands of Palestinian residents of the Gaza Strip who were waiting for humanitarian and relief aid, which resulted in the killing of dozens and the injury of hundreds of innocent civilians.

The UAE demanded an independent and transparent investigation and the punishment of those responsible, warning against the catastrophic humanitarian situation is extremely sensitive and dangerous.

In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed its deep concern over the worsening humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip, which threatens to cause further loss of life among innocent civilians.

The ministry stressed that the immediate priority is to end the military escalation and an immediate ceasefire.

The Ministry also reiterated the UAE's position calling for the importance of providing protection for innocent civilians, ensuring that humanitarian and relief aid reaches the sector urgently, sustainably and without obstacles, and the importance of fully and urgently implementing UN Security Council Resolutions 2712 and 2720.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs warned of the worsening humanitarian catastrophe taking place in the Gaza Strip, and stressed the need to prevent further loss of life, avoid inflaming the situation in the occupied Palestinian territory, and prevent the region from being dragged into new levels of violence, tension, and instability, and called on the international community to strengthen all efforts made to achieve comprehensive and just peace based on the two-state solution and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.
