Dubai Police honour Emirati sailor for rescuing 8 fishermen from drowning

Dubai Police staff honour Issa Mohammed Al Falasi for his bravery.

Noukhada (sailor) Issa Mohammed Al Falasi has been honored by the Dubai Police for his good behavior and quick response, as he rescued eight fishermen from drowning, and recovered two bodies after their boat capsized at sea during a fishing trip. The honoring came under the directives of Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police.

Major General Ahmed Mohammed Rafi, Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Community Happiness and Logistical Support Affairs, honored Noukhada Issa, in the presence of Brigadier Humaid Al Suwaidi, Deputy Director of the General Department of Finance, Brigadier Ahmed Al Mansouri, Deputy Director of the General Department of Community Happiness, Brigadier Juma Al Falasi, Deputy Director of the General Transport and Rescue Department, Brigadier Hassan Suhail Al Suwaidi, Director of the Ports Police Station, Colonel Mohammed Al Janahi, Deputy Director of the General Department for Administrative Affairs, and a number of officers.

Ahmed Rafi praised the good and quick action of Noukhada Issa Al Falasi, who was able to rescue eight fishermen, pointing out that people's lives are very important and the speed of action, intervention and rapid response by Issa had a great impact in rescuing the fishermen at a critical and important time.

For his part, Noukhada Al Falasi thanked the Dubai Police for honoring him, stressing that what he did was a humanitarian duty stemming from his role as a UAE citizen.

It was said that Noukhada Al Falasi while he was on a fishing trip, noticed a person at a distance carried by the waves of the sea, so he rushed immediately towards him.

He was surprised after rescuing and providing him with the first aid that there were nine others, who were on board the boat before it capsized and needed help. He found them and was able to rescue eight people 'all fishermen', but failed to rescue two others who had died before reaching them.
