Gang steals Dhs1m from a firm's headquarters in Dubai, detained within 24 hours

The security teams at the Dubai Police were able to arrest an Asian gang that stole Dhs1 million from the headquarters of a company located in Al Khawaneej area 24 hours after receiving the theft report.

The company's positive reaction contributed to arresting of the perpetrators in a short time, as it immediately reported the theft to the police, Colonel Khalifa Asad Al Awadhi, Acting Director of Al Khawaneej Police Station, said.

“The Police Station received a report from an investor who owns a trading establishment stating that multi-currency amounts, totalling one million dirhams had been stolen from the company's headquarters,” he added.

Instantly, a security team rushed to the crime scene. Through its extensive experience in dealing with this type of case, the team suspected a number of Asians with prior knowledge of the company and frequenting it.

The security team, in a tight ambush, arrested the suspects, who confessed to the theft, after confronting them with evidence.

"Consequently, they were referred to the Public Prosecution," Al Awadhi added.

He added that the smart transactions completed since the opening of the Station in March 2022 reached 6,285 transactions. These transactions were completed by the customers, without human intervention. While the number of smart transactions during this year have reached 2,490.

He further explained that the Station provides smart services in different languages without any human intervention, around the clock, including criminal, traffic and community services, as well as the possibility of submitting requests for permits easily, without the need to visit it.
