Sheikh Khaled Bin Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, has received Prince Tengku Hassanal Ibrahim Alam Shah, Regent of Pahang, son of Al-Sultan Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah, King of Malaysia.

During the meeting at the offices of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, Sheikh Khaled welcomed Prince Hassanal Ibrahim to the UAE and discussed the close relations between the UAE and Malaysia, as well as opportunities for collaboration across fields of mutual interest to serve the interests of the people of both nations.

The meeting was held in the presence of Saif Saeed Ghobash, Secretary General of Abu Dhabi Executive Council, and Mansour Al Dhaheri.

Recently, King Al-Sultan Abdullah Sultan Ahmed Shah of Malaysia received Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs, who was in Kuala Lumpur on a work visit.

Sheikh Abdullah conveyed the greetings of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan to the King of Malaysia and his wishes for further progress and prosperity for Malaysia and its people, stressing the deep-rooted ties that bring together their countries.

In turn, the King of Malaysia relayed his greetings to the UAE President, and his wishes for a more prosperous future for the UAE, highlighting the strong relations between their countries.

The meeting discussed ways of bolstering the UAE-Malaysia cooperation across all sectors to support the two countries’ visions and development goals.

They also touched on the outcomes of the visit of King Al-Sultan Abdullah Sultan Ahmed Shah to the UAE in February, and the visit of His Highness Sheikh Khaled Bin Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, to Malaysia recently, and the role of these visits in enhancing UAE-Malaysia cooperation.

Sheikh Abdullah underscored the distinguished friendship between the UAE and Malaysia and their leaderships, noting that officials visits between them provide a strong boost to their cooperation across all sectors.

The meeting was attended by Saeed Mubarak Al Hajri, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Economic and Commercial Affairs; Omran Sharaf, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Advanced Science and Technology; Maha Barakat, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Health; and Khalid Ghanim Al Ghaith, UAE Ambassador to Malaysia.

Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with Anwar Ibrahim, Prime Minister of Malaysia, during his recent official visit to Kuala Lumpur.

During the meeting, Sheikh Abdullah conveyed the greetings and best wishes of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, noting that relations between the UAE and Malaysia are witnessing growing momentum, aided by the keenness of their leaderships to boost their ties.

In turn, Ibrahim relayed his greetings to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid, wishing the UAE continued growth and prosperity.

He also highlighted his country’s keenness to bolster its partnership with the UAE, underscoring the long-standing friendship between the two friendly countries.

The two sides discussed issues related to the bilateral cooperation between their countries, including in the areas of commerce, investment, the economy, energy and climate.

They also highlighted the importance of the signing of a joint declaration of intent between the two countries during the visit of His Highness Sheikh Khaled Bin Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, in May 2023, which began talks between the two countries on the signing of a comprehensive economic partnership agreement (CEPA).

The two sides then discussed their cooperation in climate action and stressed the importance of the UAE’s hosting of COP28 at Expo City Dubai in November 2023.
