Airhostess 'jumps to death' from fourth-floor apartment in Bengaluru

An airhostess, who flew down to Bengaluru from Dubai to meet her boyfriend, reportedly jumped to her death on the intervening night of Friday and Saturday. According to police, the incident took place on the premises of Renuka Residency in Koramangala locality. The deceased has been identified as 28-year-old Archana from Himachal Pradesh.

She had jumped from the fourth floor of the apartment, according to Indo-Asian News Service. Preliminary investigations reveal that she worked for a reputed Dubai-based airline and had come down from the emirate to meet her boyfriend Adesh, a software professional. Adesh hails from Kasaragod in Kerala and is working in Bengaluru. Police state that both were in a relationship for the past several years, according to a report in a section of the local media.

He told police that he was in his flat while Archana was pacing outside when she accidentally slipped and fell. He called the police and then rushed the woman to hospital where doctors declared her dead on arrival. The body has been shifted to the St John's hospital. The post-mortem will be done today (Sunday).

Police are not ruling out foul play. They are investigating whether she fell by accident, or jumped down, or if she was pushed off the building. Archana, who hails from Himachal Pradesh, met Adesh through a dating app. On Friday night, they saw a film at the Forum mall in Koramangala and then returned home. They partied late into the night and had an argument over some issue.
