UAE to launch AI teachers to support students’ academic performance

UAE’s minister of education, Ahmed Belhoul Al Falasi said that the UAE education system will include digital teachers supported by artificial intelligence to contribute to the development of teaching methods to suit students’ academic performance.

Al Falasi said, “I was pleased to deliver the opening speech at the Future of Education Forum during the second day of the World Government Summit 2023, which comes within the framework of the Ministry of Education’s participation in it.”

Al Falasi said, “Emphasising the potential of AI, the first part of my introductory speech today was prepared using ChatGPT."

“While many are reluctant to include AI tools in education, I personally believe in the importance of adopting this technology.”

The education minister said, “We are also pleased to announce a partnership between the Ministry of Education and Microsoft OpenAI to integrate the latest artificial intelligence technologies into the education sector in the country.

“The integration of the digital teacher supported by artificial intelligence in the educational system contributes to the development of teaching methods to suit students’ academic performance and their style of receiving information.”

Al Falasi stressed that organizing the forum and hosting a group of experts and specialists to discuss the future of the educational sector and the mechanisms for its development comes within the framework of the Ministry's efforts to confirm its leadership and upgrade the educational system in the country.

Al Falasi, Minister of Education, emphasised the vital role of WGS in building a better future for countries and societies, as it brings together elite leaders, officials, experts, and specialists to a global platform to exchange expertise and experiences and explore means of improving various areas of government work. He noted that including “Prioritising Learning and Work” in the six main themes of WGS2023 indicates the importance of emphasising education as the main engine for building a more prosperous future. It also reiterates the UAE’s leadership in foreseeing and building the future of education.
