UAE landmarks light up to mark India’s Republic Day

The tallest building in the world, Burj Khalifa lit up in the tricolour — saffron, white and green — to celebrate India’s Republic Day on Wednesday evening.

The Burj Khalifa’s Twitter account said, “Burj Khalifa lights up in celebration of India’s Republic Day. Wishing its people prosperity and peace.”

The Abu Dhabi Media Office said, “The ADNOC building in Abu Dhabi lights up in the colours of the India flag in celebration of India’s Republic Day.”

India showcased its military hardware with a parade every year on Republic Day, which marks the adoption of its constitution in 1950.

UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan has sent a message of congratulations to President Droupadi Murmu of India on the occasion of the Republic Day, which is observed on 26th January.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, also dispatched similar messages to the Indian President and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on the occasion.
