Pakistan has confirmed that the UAE has not imposed any ban on travel to its shores by Pakistanis from ‘specific cities’ in the country contrary to what was being spread on social media sites.

The Ministry of Foreign Office Spokesperson, Mumtaz Zahra Baloch, said that UAE had not banned or blacklisted visas for Pakistanis belonging to specific cities.

Mumtaz Zahra Baloch told the media, “We have seen the reports. We can confirm that no such ban is in place by UAE for issuance of visas to Pakistani citizens.”

The statement was issued after queries from several top journalists citing some reports of blacklisting by the UAE on the issuance of visas to Pakistani citizens.

The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly denied the false reports and termed it as "fake news.”

The Consul General of the UAE in Karachi, Bakheet Ateeq Al Remeithi, said that the UAE government had imposed no such ban.

The ministry urged residents and citizens to receive information from official sources and the embassy only and not believe rumours.
