Drug dealer posts Facebook ad for narcotics' sale, gets first call from police

In an odd incident that perhaps no one saw or heard about before, a drug dealer in a village belonging to Quesna city, Al Menoufia Governorate, Egypt placed an ad on the social media platform “Facebook”, announcing narcotics supply services, providing his address and his phone numbers.

Dealer even allocated a number for after sale complaints and feedback. 

The Egyptian security authorities arrested the drug dealer hours after the ad was placed, the Egypt’s Ministry of Interior confirmed.

The teams of the Public Security Division, in cooperation with the Criminal Investigation Department at Al Menoufia Security Directorate, were able to identify and arrest the person who placed the ad.

He is known as “Abu Kayaan” and he is classified a dangerous criminal element.

He was found in possession of an amount of cannabis estimated at six kilograms, along with a quantity of heroin, and two kilograms of "hydro" drug.

The security teams also seized in his possession a shotgun, a number of bullets and a sum of money.

The Ministry of the Interior stated that the security forces found in his possession a number of publications of different sizes, on which was written “Abu Kayaan for all types of psychotropics”.

On confronting him, the accused admitted that the seized items belonged to him with the intention of trafficking, while the firearm was used to protect his criminal activity.

He also added that the amount of money that had been found with him was from the proceeds of his criminal activity, and the mobile phones to contact his customers.
