A domestic flight from Delhi to Bangalore was grounded at IGI Airport on Friday evening after one of its engines caught fire.

Local media reported that the IndiGo flight was carrying 177 passengers when the incident took place.

The airport authorities confirmed that flight 6E 2131 was grounded after sparks were noticed coming from under the aircraft’s wing while it was still on the runway.

Priyanka Kumar, a Corporate Communications specialist, recorded the video from inside the plane.

She wrote on Twitter, Scary experience on Delhi runway! This was supposed to be a take off video but this happened. #indigo.”

She confirmed that the situation was under control.

Police said that all passengers and crew members were safely evacuated.
The passengers were transferred to another plane.

An investigation has been launched into the incident.
