Rain of varying intensity fell on separate areas across the UAE on Tuesday as a result of the country being affected by a shallow air depression from the east, accompanied by an extension of an air depression in the upper layers of the atmosphere. Moderate rain started to fall at 2:30pm on Al Foah in Al Ain City, Abu Dhabi, while light to moderate rain fell on Al Hili, Ghashaba, Masaken and other areas.

The lowest temperature of 22.8 degrees Celsius was registered in Jebel Al Heben in Fujairah at 6:15am local time. The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) called on the public to exercise extreme caution while driving vehicles during the rainfall and lack of horizontal visibility due to the rain and sand-stirring winds.

It also called on them to stay away from places with gathered water and flooded valleys. Wednesday’s weather is expected to be clear in general with some low clouds appearing in the east in the morning but would turn to humid at night and Thursday morning on some coastal areas, the NCM said.

Light to moderate southeasterly winds will blow on Wednesday, turning to northwesterly and northeasterly sand-stirring winds during the day at 10 to 25 and up to 35 km/h, while the sea will have light waves in the Arabian Gulf and Sea of Oman.

Thursday’s weather will be clear in general to partly cloudy sometimes in the east but will be humid at night and Friday morning with the possibility of light fog on some northern areas.

Light to moderate southwesterly to northwesterly winds will blow, turning to strong in the west on Friday morning at 15 to 30 and up to 40 km/h, the NCM said, adding that the sea will have light to moderate waves but will become gradually rough on Friday morning in the Arabian Gulf.

The sea will have light waves in the Sea of Oman, the NCM said. Friday’s weather is expected to be clear in general, partly cloudy in the east and dusty in the west, while the temperature is likely to drop on coastal areas, the NCM said.

Light to moderate northwesterly winds will blow, turning to strong sometimes, especially in the west, it added, noting that they will be sand-stirring on some open areas at 15 to 30 and up to 40 km/h. the sea will have moderate to rough waves in the Arabian Gulf and light waves in the Sea of Oman.
