In implementation of the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, and the follow-up of Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Presidential Affairs, and President of the Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation for Humanitarian Works, the Foundation launched the first stages of operating the largest hospital in Shabwa Governorate in Yemen

The inauguration of the first phase comes within the framework of the humanitarian initiatives of the UAE offered to the Yemeni people, implemented by the Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation for Humanitarian Works.

The initiative aims to alleviate human suffering, especially the difficulties experienced by the health sector in Yemen.

A delegation from the Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation for Humanitarian Works, in the presence of Awad Bin Al Wazir Al Awlaki, Governor of Shabwa, inaugurated the first phase.

An official source at the Khalifa Humanitarian Foundation said the humanitarian and development projects of the UAE, spread all over the world, contribute to reinforcing the comprehensive development process and positively reflect on improving people’s lives.

The source added the initiative aims to enhance and improve the health care services in the governorate of Shabwa.

The Governor of Shabwa said, “As we open the Shabwa General Hospital, we are happy to be with brothers from the UAE on the land of Yemen. Through the Emirati delegation, we offer our deepest condolences on the death of Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the man of humanity and unlimited giving.

“We also thank the UAE, under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE and the government and people of the Emirates for what they provided and did to contribute to the alleviating of the difficult conditions we are suffering.”

It is worth mentioning that the Shabwa General Hospital consists of 350 medical beds, 100 of which are equipped with all different medical specialties in the first phase, in addition to the preparation of 250 beds in the second phase.

LAst month the UAE congratulated Rashad Al Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council in Yemen, and members of the Council for taking the constitutional oath in the city of Aden.

In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MoFAIC) had affirmed the UAE’s full support for the Presidential Leadership Council to enable it to carry out its tasks, foremost of which are peace, stability and development in brotherly Yemen. Moreover, the UAE wished the Council success in fulfilling its national responsibilities.
