The Sharjah Police are investigating the suicide of an Asian couple who hanged themselves in an apartment on Tuesday evening in the Emirate of Sharjah.

In detail, the Operations Room of the Sharjah Police General Command received a report at 5:30 pm on Tuesday alerting that two bodies of an Asian couple in their seventies had been found, hanged in an apartment on the 13th floor of one of the residential towers in the Al Nabaa area in Sharjah.

Instantly on receiving the report, the police patrols, the crime scene team and the national ambulance rushed to the site.

It was the son of the couple who had called the police. He told police that after returning from work, he knocked at the door several times but there was no response from inside.

He added that he opened the door with his key and was shocked to find his parents, who came from their home country to visit him, hanged.

The National Ambulance transferred the couple to the criminal laboratory to determine the causes of the accident, while the accident file was referred to the West Police Station to complete the investigations into the incident, and complete the necessary legal procedures.
