A White House Marine’s reacting to thunderclap had social media users rip into the White House with some fun memes and comments on Twitter.

The video of him reacting to lightning garnered thousands of likes and retweets, and therefore went viral.

The marine in question was standing guard outside one of the doors to the White House when the lighting strikes causing him to visibly flinch before he waits for a second, then very formally and very slowly starts to make his exit to stage left.

A video uploaded from a few minutes later showed the sentry back on his post after the thunderstorm had calmed down a bit.

Jeremy Art, a C-SPAN Social Media Senior Specialist shared the video and wrote on Twitter, “Lightning strikes outside White House as Marine Sentry stands his post.

Dr. Annelies Kamran said, “I hope someone gets him a towel and some hot chocolate when his shift is over.”

Leggy Nieto said, “Laughing harder than I should at this. The most dignified "nope" ever.” SirZerty said on Twitter, “No worries, that portion of the Oval Office is under cover, he's not being rained on.”

Another Twitter user said, “I want to give him a raincoat, wellie boots, & a rainhat, then hot cocoa and homebaked cookies when his shift is over. That looks miserable.”
