Worldwide coronavirus cases cross 181 million

The novel COVID-19 has infected at least 181.45 million people globally and 4,086,690 have died, according to a reputable news agency tally on Tuesday.

The Indian Health Ministry data showed on Tuesday that from 400,000 cases a day in May, daily new infections now stand at 37,566. The South Asian nation's tally stands at 30.31 million, with a death toll of 397,637.

Indian health ministry officials and experts said on Tuesday that western state of Maharashtra is training thousands of health workers in how to care for children afflicted with coronavirus as a first line of defence against surges involving new variants.
