Dubai Police game 'My Rights and Duties' becomes a hit
The game seeks to increase children's awareness of their rights and duties.
The Dubai Police game, "Rights and Duties," has proved successful with more than 86,610 downloads by iPhone and Android users.
Launched last year by the General Department of Human Rights, the game aims at raising children's awareness of their rights and duties in accordance with modern educational and recreational methods.
Brigadier Dr. Aref Ahli, Director of the Women and Children Protection Department, said that children of 14-15 of age were the main targets of our educational application to engage and encourage them in an entertaining and interesting way to realise their rights.
He added that "Dubai Police are exerting great efforts to enhance safety and security in the community of Dubai and guarantee the legal and human rights of individuals, especially children, vulnerable groups who need assistance and protection of their rights and freedoms."
"The application is the first of its kind at the state level, which addresses children in an innovative and professional way considering their young age. It has four types of entertainment, three interesting worlds and more than 100 fun stages, all of which aim at enhancing their abilities by knowing their personal rights as provided by the law of the state through an entertaining and fun way." Brig. Ahli continued.
The player is asked to interact with and colour all interactive content designed to promote positive behaviour and measure the child's ability to understand his rights guaranteed by law.
Available on Apple Store and Google Play, 'My Rights and Duties' is designed to be an interactive entertainment destination with 3 worlds: desert, snow and oasis. It includes competitions and information, recreational games, and pictures explaining the rights of the child in Arabic and English.
Recently, the General Department of Artificial Intelligence, AI, at Dubai Police launched a new video game entitled "Stay Safe", to raise awareness on COVID-19 and it modes of transition, highlighting important safety tips such as wearing gloves and masks.
Brigadier Khalid Nasser Al Razooqi, the General Director of AI at Dubai Police, said that Dubai Police developed "Stay Safe" video game as it prioritises and emphasises the importance of raising public knowledge during such events. "In addition, the use of video games in education is a very promising step," he noted, adding that the game can reach a large segment of the community regardless of their age or ethnicity, as almost everyone now uses a smart phone.
