Abu Dhabi customs foils bid to smuggle 40kg of drugs

Seized drugs are being displayed by Abu Dhabi customs officials.

The Abu Dhabi Customs foiled an attempt to smuggle 80 wraps containing a green substance suspected to be marijuana, distributed in two bags weighing 40 kilogrammes.

The General Administration of Customs praised the expertise and competence of inspectors, and their vital role in protecting the country from all possible risks caused by cross-border trade.

The administration said it continues to play its important and vital role in protecting the security of the country and ensuring its stability and the safety of citizens and residents.

It added: “The employees of the General Administration of Customs are considered the first line of defence in preserving the capabilities and safety of the UAE.”

The Department also appreciated the support of the rational leadership towards continuing to develop the capabilities and qualifications of the customs human cadres, and providing the best equipment and techniques for customs inspection in accordance with the highest standards followed globally.
