Abu Dhabi Police, represented by the Directorate of Traffic and Patrols, announced that as of Sunday, Dec 1, 2019, the right-lane of both directions of the King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud Street would be allocated for emergency vehicles, public buses and taxis only.

“Drivers who fail to abide by the instructions will attract a fine of Dhs400 in accordance with Article 93 of the Traffic Law, which provides that regular vehicles are not allowed to pass on the routes allocated for emergency vehicles, public buses and taxis except in the authorized cases,” the police added.

The Abu Dhabi Police have decorated 120 vehicles of their patrols in the cities of Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and Al Dhafra with the slogan of celebrating the 48th National Day, “Spirit of the Union and Martyrs Day” by placing the logos on the rear windshields of vehicles.

Brigadier Mohammad Dahi Al-Humairi, Director of Traffic and Patrols Directorate at the Central Operations Sector, said that the decorating of the traffic patrols comes within the framework of celebrations of the 48th anniversary of the UAE Union, and the joy of the police officers and their pride in the great achievements that have placed the country among the most developed countries in the rates of development and prosperity, stability, to make its people the happiest people in the world.

The Abu Dhabi Police urged citizens, residents and visitors to spend a safe and happy holiday, stressing its continued interest in providing a safe atmosphere to help members of the community to celebrate this occasion by preventing all that may disturb them and dealing with emergencies on main roads and land areas and venues for celebrations.

Abu Dhabi Police have urged the public to cooperate with the Police and Security directives, which aim to achieve their safety, especially those in the festivals and ground users, and to avoid negative behaviors that may cause many discomfort.

It announced its readiness to secure the celebrations and increase the number of patrols and distribute them according to traffic density points to the shopping centers and places of various events in the emirate to enhance the security aspects.

Abu Dhabi Police renewed its call to the public to abide by the requirements of decorating vehicles and to maintain the flow of traffic and not to block roads on others, and urged them to abide by safety requirements when setting up tents.
