UAE leaders receive Hijri New Year greetings

Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid and Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed.

President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, has received congratulatory cables from the Kings, Presidents and Princes of Muslim and friendly countries, on the occasion of the new Hijri Year.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, received similar cables on the occasion.

Earlier, Sheikh Khalifa has sent congratulatory cables to kings, presidents and emirs of the Arab and Islamic countries on the advent of the new Hijri year.
Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid and Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed also dispatched similar greetings to Arab and Islamic leaders on the glorious occasion.

On Friday night, the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR) announced that Saturday, Aug.31, will be a public holiday for the federal government to mark the Hijri new year.

''In light of the announcement of the relevant authorities in the government that Saturday is the first day of Muharram 1441 H, the Hijri new year's holiday will, therefore, be observed on Saturday, said FAHR in a statement.

The statement added that regular work will resume on Sunday.
