ABU DHABI: Indian nationals who faced rejection of equivalency of some Indian degrees due to lack of clarity over internal/external marks, can heave a sigh of relief as the UAE Ministry of Education has no objection to equivalence of those degrees that meets all other certificate equivalency criteria.

Those applications that have been rejected previously, will be reviewed and equivalency letters would be issued after meeting all other certificate equivalency conditions.

The Indian Embassy in Abu Dhabi made the announcement after Ambassador of India to the UAE Navdeep Suri met UAE Minister of Education Hussain Bin Ibrahim Al Hammadi to discuss problems faced by Indian nationals following rejection of equivalency of some Indian degrees due to lack of clarity over internal/external marks.

The Embassy of India, Abu Dhabi, informed that following the above discussions, the UAE Ministry of Education conveyed that it has reviewed the information provided to it through the ‘Action Plan for Academic and Administrative Reforms’ issued by the University Grant Commission, India.

The ministry was informed that the word “external” in the mark sheet reflects the method of evaluation and not place of study and notified that it has no objection to equivalence those degrees that meets all other certificate equivalency criteria.

Thus, the applications that have been rejected previously, will be reviewed and equivalency letters would be issued after meeting all other certificate equivalency conditions.

The UAE Ministry of Education further informed that it is working on all such applications gradually and requested for co-operation from all concerned as it will take some time to review all these cases due to huge number of such applications.

The aim of the Ministry of Education is to bring in the idea of innovative education for a knowledge, pioneering, and global society.  The Ministry of Education aims to develop an innovative Education System for a knowledge and global competitive society, that includes all age groups to meet future labour market demand, by ensuring quality of the ministry of education outputs, and provision of best services for internal and external customers.
