Egyptian doctors were surprised while conducting an urgent surgery on a patient suffering from acute stomach infections and found a mobile phone inside the stomach.

The man was believed to have swallowed the phone more than 6 months ago, according to Egyptian local media.

The strange incident was witnessed by the Aswan University Hospital after a patient who was suffering from severe abdominal pain went to a doctor.

After x-rays and medical examinations were conducted, it was found that there were severe infections in the abdomen and intestines.

The hospital’s surgical staff decided to perform surgery on the man, during which they extracted a foreign body from his stomach, which turned out to be a mobile phone.

According to the media, Mohamed El-Dahshoury, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Aswan University Hospitals said that it is the first incident of its kind that the hospital received a patient who swallowed a mobile phone, explaining that the phone was in the patient’s stomach for more than 6 months, which caused food to be withheld, leading to severe infection.
